Riding the Ferris Wheel at Wonderland Lisboa
Wonderland Lisboa has started and this is one of the things to do in December in the Portuguese capital that you can’t miss.
This event takes place until January 1st at Parque Eduardo VII and has a lot of fun attractions for children and adults. The busiest is perhaps the Ferris Wheel, so get ready to waste a few minutes in line. But the view pays off!
In addition to riding the Ferris Wheel, you can also have fun on the ice rink or on a carousel ride, listen to music and shop for Christmas.
Visit the Christmas Capital, in Oeiras
This year, Christmas in Lisbon has the theme park “Christmas Capital”, at Algés Promenade, which is in Oeiras.
This project aims to offer its visitors an experience that recreates Christmas, with a giant Christmas tree, a Ferris Wheel, an icy lake, Santa’s Village and the Elf Village, a space that tells the story of Santa’s little helpers.
In addition, there will still be a giant tent where it snows, as well as various food, drink, shopping and cultural and musical entertainment venues!
A walk through Lisbon’s Christmas markets
Christmas in Lisbon would no longer be the same without the typical markets that fill the city streets.
As such, one of the best things to do in December in Lisbon is to browse the various Christmas markets such as Cascais Christmas Village, Xmas Time Market, Campo Pequeno Christmas Market or Natalis at FIL.
In these markets, you can find various gifts for Christmas, such as regional products, crafts, sweets, fashion and accessories. And there are even stalls dedicated exclusively to chocolate!
See the Christmas decoration and lighting of the city
Have you never seen the Christmas decoration and lighting in Lisbon? So, don’t waste any more time, as the Christmas lights have already turned on in iconic places such as Armazéns do Chiado, Terreiro do Paço and Avenida da Liberdade.
And since Lisbon will be even brighter these days, why not take a boat trip along the Tagus River at the end of the day to enjoy the view over the city? On these tours you can, for example, dine with your family while watching the Christmas lights of Praça do Comércio, where once again a 30-meter-high Christmas tree is installed!
